RESIDENTIAL
THERMI RESIDENCE
This project concerns the design of a single-story residence for a family of four. The main feature of the design is the arrangement of the residence into distinct volumes that are connected to each other, creating a play of recesses and protrusions.
The residence is developed on a single level, slightly elevated from the ground. It consists of four distinct volumes, arranged parallel to each other. Two higher volumes, with green roofs and two lower volumes varying in material, alternate with each other. Enclosed outdoor spaces are formed between those volumes.
Pedestrian and vehicle access to the property is from the northeastern side, where there is parking space with two spots and a corridor leading directly to the main entrance of the residence.
The entryway, along with a wc, storage space and a covered outdoor space serving the kitchen, form the first of the four distinct volumes. The entrance leads to the second volume, where the open-plan living and dining room, and kitchen are located. The kitchen is distinguished from the rest of the space by a partitioning piece of furniture. The living area has direct access to the outdoor space of the residence, with a swimming pool and a barbeque area, as well as to the enclosed outdoor space between the main volumes of the building. The third volume connects the living area with the sleeping zone through a corridor with storage space. The sleeping zone includes three bedrooms, a bathroom and a laundry and storage space.
